It’s good business in a hot city, of course, selling soğuk su (cold water) on the street. Soğuk su soğuk su soğuk suuuuuu!, you hear everywhere. The vendors either sit in the shade with a bucket of ice containing ten bottles, or they wander around looking for a sale at the bus stops or to drivers stuck in traffic jams. And sometimes, sometimes they get in each other’s way. A short but fierce scuffle occurs when two guys both want to get on the same bus to sell water to the passengers. An older man chases a boy away, shouting at him because he sat down a bit too close-by with his merchandise. They get so excited, and I think to myself: come on, relax, on days like this you will all get rid of your bottles. It’s just too warm for cold water fights.
